Protection Policies

Protection policies are the recommended way to back up WordPress sites and applications. Each policy targets one app, runs on a cron schedule, performs full backups followed by GNU tar incremental backups, and applies compression and retention rules. Retention by count and days includes chain protection so incrementals never lose their base full backup.

Storage Providers

Backups can be stored locally or uploaded to Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, MinIO, and Wasabi. Remote copies are verified by checksum and tracked for size and cost. Optional Fernet encryption protects sensitive backups.

Restore and Snapshots

One-click restore supports full, files-only, and database-only scopes for WordPress targets, with a safety backup created before restore when possible. WordPress detail pages also support point-in-time database snapshots for quick pre-update protection.
